Full‑Day West Tour: Mountains, Forests & Europe’s Hawaii

We begin the day in São Vicente, a charming village on the north coast. Enjoy a 30‑minute coffee break and relax in its peaceful atmosphere.

Next, we visit Seixal, home to Madeira’s famous black sand beach. We also stop at the Bride’s Veil Waterfall, surrounded by lush green cliffs.

We continue to Porto Moniz for a 1‑hour stop. Enjoy lunch overlooking the volcanic pools or take a refreshing swim.

After lunch, we visit Ribeira da Janela to see some of Madeira’s most unique volcanic rock formations.

We then climb above 1000 meters to explore the Fanal Forest (UNESCO). Spend 30 minutes walking among ancient laurel trees and enjoying the fresh mountain air.

Our journey continues across Madeira’s largest mountain plateau, with wide open views and dramatic landscapes as we cross from north to south.

Back at sea level, we stop in Ponta do Sol for 20 minutes. This is one of the island’s most beautiful historic villages, perfect for a short walk and photos.

We also visit the farmers market in Ribeira Brava, where you can stroll around, meet local vendors, and see the beautiful 16th‑century church.

We finish the day by driving back to Funchal, ending a full‑day private adventure through the best of Madeira’s west coast.
