Madeira 4 Tours came via a word of mouth recommendation and I cannot give higher praise , if you are looking for an informed guide and a personalised tour then look no further as this outfit will definitely fulfil expectations. Ross arrived promptly at the designated time to collect us from our hotel , the cabriolet style jeep was comfortable and enhanced the experience , amongst our 4 hour excursion we visited the peaks surrounding nuns valley taking in the breathtaking scenery prior to descending into the valley itself . The entire excursion was great fun and I wish we had discovered this company earlier in our vacation as they have various tour options available that sadly we do not have time to enjoy .

Ross was amazing!! He was so knowledgeable and I felt safe the whole time on some pretty insane inclines/ turns. Fantastic 4 hour trip up the mountains and surrounding area of Funchal. Ross was very knowledgeable, telling us all sorts of information about Funchal and Madeira. We really enjoyed the trip and will definitely use this company again. We had a lovely time and Ross was a pleasure to be with.
I can't add any more praise than other people have given. The service was impeccable, we hired the Areiro peak tour and had a unique experience above the clouds. Ross is an informed guide, he gives many explanations about the landscape, flora and fauna, totally recommendable.

The trip was super. Ross is so friendly and he knows everything about Madeira. I really recommend him and this 5 hours pastime. You can see some pictures about the day but we can take a lot, cause we stopped so much beautiful viewpoint.
Today we went on a trip to Pico do Areeira with RossThe views were fantastic & Ross was ao informativeWe did a few stops but the highlight was Levada dos Balcones, stunning views made even better by feeding the chaffinches.Thoroughly recommend Ross as a tour guide.

What an incredible experience! We took the 5 hour north western tour and had the best time. We chose a private tour because it better suited my autistic daughter - and we were able to see so much more than being on a coach tour. Ross was so accommodating and engaging - and aside from learning all about the landscape and flora, he taught us hilarious Portuguese tongue twisters! The highlight was swimming in the incredible lava rock pools at Porto Moniz while the sea raged around us - epic! Thank you Ross, you gave us a five star experience and helped to fall in love with Madeira!

Fantastic bespoke tour of the southwest of the island with the charming Ross. We saw things we had never seen before on Madeira and really enjoyed his company and the tour in his open top 4-wheel drive vehicle. A fantastic way to enjoy the island.

Today we had an unforgettable trip to the south east tip of Madeira. Ross showed us the best vantage points, told a lot about the island and gave many tips.We really enjoyed the day and would book a tour with Madeira 4 Tours again at any time.
A perfect experience from start to finish. Our experience included pick up from the hotel and a tour to nuns valley where we tried some traditional liquor, some other beautiful view points on the island and onto Pico Do Arieiro the watch the sunset. After this we tasted some traditional poncho in a restaurant where this was first made. Our tour guide Ross was very informative, fun and made sure our experience was perfect, we couldn’t have asked for a better guide. This experience is something me and my partner would recommending anyone doing when they visit Madeira, we will definitely back. Ross, our tour guide and founder of Madeira 4 Tours, decided to take a different approach to show the beauty of Madeira. He brought a lovely small red jeep for (only) 3 guests and always found the balance between showcasing the stunning nature and talking about the history of Madeira and giving us the time to enjoy the trip just by us. If you like high quality in service and enjoy the more personal and individual approach we can highly recommend a tour with Ross and Madeira 4 Tours.We booked the tour „The Fabulous Pico do Arieiro“ and started at sea level with multiple stops at scenic places. In the middle of our tour we went for an 1,5h hike and ended the tour at the peak of Pico do Arieiro! We always found our way between the masses and had the feeling that this trip was just for us.
